Biography

Katsuhisa Murakami is a senior researcher at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), where he joined in 2016. He received his PhD in the field of vacuum nanoelectronics from Osaka university in 2007. He joined Fraunhofer Institute of Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB) as a postdoctoral researcher of university of Erlangen-Nuremberg for two years, where he worked on an analysis of leakage current conduction mechanisms of high-k materials by scanning probe microscopy. He worked on the development of direct synthesis manner of graphene on an insulating substrate as an assistant professor at university of Tsukuba from 2012 to 2015. His current research interests are synthesis of atomic layered materials, metal-insulator-semiconductor planer type electron emission device utilizing graphene and hexagonal boron nitride, and its applications for electron microscope, chemical reaction induced by electron beam, and so on.
