Biography

Dr. Han Zhang is a senior researcher at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in the city of Tsukuba, Japan. He graduated from Tsinghua University in China in 2002 with a bachelor degree. He then obtained his master degree and doctor degree from the University of North Carolina in the USA in the years 2004 and 2006. After that, he went to Japan and continued his research at NIMS. His interest is focused on utilizing the ultra-bright field emission from LaB6 nanowires to make new generation electron microscopes. His goal, set in his Ph.D. years, has always been to characterize LaB6 nanowires with record-breaking details using LaB6 nanowire-generated electron beams of superior quality.
