Conference Information

We are pleased to invite you to the 38th International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference (IVNC 2025), hosted by the School of Technology at Reykjavik University. IVNC 2025 will be held at Reykjavik University in the summer of 2025.

The IVNC series is devoted to the science and technology of micro and nanodevices that harness vacuum and high electric field phenomena. The first IVNC was held in Williamsburg, VA in 1988 and was chaired by C. A. Spindt (SRI) and H. F. Gray (NRL). Initially focused on field emission, displays and power tubes, IVNC first evolved into the pre-eminent conference series in the world on electron sources and their applications to then expand to encompass fundamentals, fabrication, and applications of other vacuum and high electric field phenomena such as plasmas, liquid ionization, gas ionization, X-rays, mass spectrometry, space propulsion, vacuum quantum systems, and harsh electronics

IVNC alternates between Asia, Europe, and North America, drawing nearly equal participation from these regions. Since its establishment, the conference has provided a valuable platform for researchers to share their latest findings and drive advancements toward commercialization.

At IVNC 2025, we will continue the tradition of hosting single-track oral and poster sessions, along with social events designed to foster interaction and networking. We look forward to welcoming you to Reykjavik for a productive and engaging conference next summer!
