Airports
If traveling from overseas the most convenient option is to fly into Lyon’s international airport which is a modern, efficient, architecturally interesting airport with a large number of direct flights to other cities and continents.
It is very well connected to the center of Lyon with a direct 35 min shuttle, Rhone Express (or Lyon Express) that drops you off at the main transport hub of Lyon, Gare Lyon Part Dieu.
The price is about 15€ one way and you can reserve online though this is often not necessary. One walks within the airport complex to the shuttle in 5-10 min.
From gare Part Dieu, tram, metro, bus and taxis can take you to your final destination. The direct modern tram T1 can take you in about 20 min to the conference center, and one of the proposed hotels is at Part Dieu itself.
Taxis fares to the center are about 50€ and are more expensive outside business hours.
The airport is also is a TGV fast-train station which is connected to Paris and Marseilles.
Here is a map including Part Dieu and the conference site.
Airport Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Other options are Geneva International Airport, about 2 hours by slower train to Lyon, and Grenoble airport, count two hours also to Lyon with bus links.
