Biography

Prof. Lee received his BS, MS and Ph. D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Korea University in 1982, 1984 and 1993, respectively. He is professor in Electrical Engineering of Korea University since 2005. Before joining the faculty at Korea University in 2005, Prof. Lee had worked as an associate professor in Electronics and Computer Engineering at Hanyang University from 2002 to 2005 and also had served as an associate professor in Electronics and Information Engineering at Kunsan National University from 1993 to 2002. He also had worked as a senior researcher at R&D Center of Samsung Electronics from 1983 to 1991, and had successfully developed several generation DRAM memory devices from 64K DRAM to 16M DRAM. After transferring to university from Samsung Electronics, he started the synthesis, characterization and field emission properties of carbon nanotubes and Graphene. During over 20 years, his main interest has been focused on high efficient field emitters and its vacuum device applications such as vacuum transistors, electron beam sources and cold cathode x-ray sources. Recently, his research has been deeply focused on cold cathode x-ray tubes using CNTs and graphene materials.

Tentative title: High performance cold cathode CNT x-ray tubes
