Visit of the Paul Scherrer Institute

After the official end of the conference, about 50 conference attendees took the additional ride to the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in the canton of Argovia.

We had a very interesting visit of PSI large facilities & beamlines, in particular the Swiss Light Source synchrotron machine presented by Dr. Lothar Schulz, a survey of the nanotechnology research at PSI and EUV interference lithography at the XIL beamline presented by Prof. Dr. Jens Gobrecht, a presentation of the phase contrast tomography at the TOMCAT beamline by Dr. David Haberthür, and the SwissFEL Injector test facility presented by Dr. Thomas Scheitinger.

The visit was ended by an appero and the participants were brought to the train stations or back to Engelberg for those who wished it .
