Vancouver and nearby destinations

UBC and Vancouver are situated in incredibly beautiful natural surroundings and have much to offer travellers, not only in outdoor activities, but also in art, culture, cuisine and social life. Aside from seeing UBC and Vancouver, if you are interested in spending more time in the region, you could choose from a variety of additional destinations: Victoria, the Capital of British Columbia, is about 3 hours (including a drive and ferry ride) away from Vancouver, the resort of Whistler is about 2 hours of drive away, and Seattle is about 3 hours of drive away (but that’s in the USA, so check if you need another visa for that). If you want to go a bit farther, there are other great options in Canada such as Kelowna, and Banff and Jasper National parks.
