Countdown to IVNC 2014 in Engelberg, Switzerland
With one week left before the 27th edition of the International Vacuum Nanoelectronics Conference, we are busy making sure that everything will run smoothly in Engelberg, Switzerland. We are expecting a cold spell for next week, so make sure that you are appropriately clothed for the mountain and that you have packed some warm clothes.
The conference will focus on the following topics:
- Ultrafast Electron Sources
- Photo-induced Emission from Nanostructures
- Novel Field Emission Devices
- X-ray Applications
- Electron Emission Theory
- High-Electric Field Breakdown
- Novel Cathode devices and their Fabrication Methods
- Novel Cathodes Measurements and Methods
- Novel Cathodes based on Carbon & New Materials
We are expecting very exciting talks. In particular, our plenary speakers are Prof. Dwayne Miller from the Max Planck Institute who will talk of mapping atomic motions with ultrabright electrons, Dr. Alex Dommann from the EMPA who will tell us how cold emitters could affect the X-ray imaging and Dr. Walter Wuensch from the CERN who will talk about high-gradient accelerators, vacuum breakdown and field emission.
Here is the conference schedule.
See you all next week in Engelberg!
