Dr. Andreas Kyritsakis

Dr. Kyritsakis is a researcher at the University of Helsinki (UH), Physics department & Helsinki Institute of Physics (HIP). He works in HIP’s accelerator technology program, in close collaboration with the CLIC project in CERN. His main research interests are electron emission and vacuum breakdown theory. He specializes in the theory of thermal-field emission from nanometrically sharp emitters and the initiation of vacuum breakdown plasmas. He has several developed multi-scale multi-physics computational tools, to calculate the dynamic evolution of intensively emitting nanotips, including finite size, space charge and thermal effects.
